![]() Berty Barranco was born in Barranquilla, Colombia in 1959. A textile artist, she has lived in New York since 1986. She was member and cofounder of the literary group Francisco "pacho" Bolanos in Barranquilla. She received honorable mention from la casa de la Cultura Dominicana Poetry contest. Her work has been included in magazines and various other publication of the Hispanic community of New York. Some of her poems appeared in Diosas en Bronca, Poesia contemporanea de la mujer colombiana, and anthology edited by Tereza Rozo-Moorhouse. Her book Omen, (Colcuc Ediciones) with English translations by Timothy Pratt, was published in 1996. |
