On Great Chilean Poets...

Well, you know Nicanor [Parra] was the first who started to bring in all this swearing and all the "shit" language that's realistic into the poetry. And thus he became the father of practically everything that's happening now in Chile. And [Vicente] Huidobro instead was like a shooting star. He created a vision of the world. A vision of words that has been influential everywhere but not very much in Chile--I should say. Although…um…now there is a Fundación de Huidobro that has created a museum de la avance guarda, a museum of the avant-garde, which is also a phantom museum not yet with a place. But…um… they are beginning to re-discover Huidobro these days.
